To contribute to the global fight against Chagas disease by implementing a model based on a comprehensive approach to patient care and the production of knowledge.

The project’s intervention strategy focuses on three main areas: 1) implementing a model based on comprehensive healthcare management for patients with Chagas disease within the framework of  the Bolivian National Health System; 2) strengthening and developing Bolivia’s health research capacities in order to generate new knowledge that can be applied to health programmes and to diagnostic and therapeutic methods, not only in Chagas, but also other prevalent neglected diseases in Bolivia.; and 3) providing healthcare authorities and decision-makers with basic tools (guidelines, standards, reliable data, tools) that will enable them to improve the management of healthcare programmes.
