23 June 2022 - 23 June 2022

Kigali, Ruanda

The Kigali Summit on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) will take place alongside the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and hosted by the Government of Rwanda on 23 June 2022. The Summit comes at a pivotal time for world leaders to reaffirm commitments to end malaria and NTDs – diseases that cause untold suffering and misery to billions of people.

The Summit is also an historic opportunity to show the world how malaria and NTD programmes “unlock the potential” of countries to build a safer world for everyone everywhere. Investments in fighting these debilitating diseases are critical for building resilient health systems, improving pandemic preparedness and prevention, and supporting healthier populations.

The Kigali Summit will convene presidents, prime ministers, CEOs, philanthropists, scientific experts, global influencers and community champions, culminating in a high-level session and a Call-to-Action for world leaders. Throughout the day, high-level speeches, commitments, engaging content and thought-provoking discussions will highlight the action needed to end malaria and NTDs once and for all, with a focus on integration, innovation and new tools, financing, and regional coordination. The Summit will also feature performances from world-renowned artists of music, dance, and literature.
